Jackiem Joyner

Saxophonist, composer, and arranger Jackiem Joyner takes on modern jazz influenced by his upbringing in the gospel chapel and like of modern R&B. Given birth to in 1980 in Norfolk, Virginia, Joyner was initially launched to music by his bassist dad, and later performed drums support the gospel choir in his chapel. In his teenagers, Joyner relocated along with his family members to Syracuse, NY, where he analyzed saxophone and performed in the music group. While in senior high school, Joyner competed in the NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (or ACT-SO), acquiring top honors 3 years inside a row in the types of Instrumental Modern, Structure, and Classical Music. After graduating senior high school, Joyner relocated back again to Virginia, where he approved the positioning of music movie director for Globe Harvest Outreach Ministries in Newport Information under the path of Bishop Michael Patterson. This encounter helped the burgeoning saxophone celebrity grow quickly like a musician, and by age group 21 he previously became a member of keyboardist Marcus Johnson’s music group, with which he toured from 2001 to 2004. After shifting to LA in 2003 Joyner started concentrating on his single profession, and in 2005 he released his debut single album, the individually produced THESE TIMES. The recording helped increase his account, and in 2007 he authorized to trumpeter Rick Braun’s ARTizen GROUP in time release a his sophomore recording, Babysoul. Carrying out a buyout in ’09 2009, Joyner relocated from ARTizen to Mack Avenue Information and released many even more albums, including 2010’s Jackiem Joyner and 2012’s Chapel Boy, which presented efforts from Kirk Whalum and Jonathan Butler. In 2014 Joyner released his 5th studio recording, and third for Mack Avenue, Evolve. An exciting mix of simple jazz and gospel, Evolve proclaimed the very first time Joyner wrote, organized, and created every monitor. Evolve also highlighted performances from Gerald Albright and Keiko Matsui.
