Vocalist Jackie Cain (given birth to Might 22, 1928, Milwaukee, WI) and vocalist/pianist Roy Kral (given birth to Oct 10, 1921, Chicago, IL) first joined causes in 1946, and in 1996 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary like a vocal duo. Jackie & Roy had been with Charlie Ventura’s music group during 1948-1949 (which offered them significant amounts of acknowledgement); Lou Stein’s “East of Suez” was a unique feature for his or her voices. Soon after departing Ventura in June 1949, these were wedded and worked collectively frequently since. Jackie & Roy experienced their own tv program in Chicago in the first ’50s, worked well in NEVADA during 1957-1960, resolved in NY in 1963, and made an appearance on some tv commercials. They documented many spirited jazz shows for a number of labels with the years, and performed in to the 2000s until Kral’s loss of life in August 2002. Roy was the sibling of vocalist Irene Kral.
