Biography
The prototypical borscht belt comedian, Jackie Mason deftly combined self-deprecating humility with abrasive arrogance to acutely dissect the differences between Jewish and Gentile culture. After selecting initial achievement in the 1960s being a regular guest from the Ed Sullivan Present, he spent another 2 decades in obscurity, blackballed with the showbiz powers-that-be, before re-emerging a lot more effective than before on the close from the 1980s. Mason was created Jacob Maza on June 9, 1934, in Sheboygan, WI. The kid of the rabbi, he shortly moved along with his family members to New York’s Decrease East Aspect, where he spent his formative years learning to check out in his father’s footsteps. After his ordainment, Mason spent 3 years being a rabbi in Latrobe, PA; after gaining a warm reception for the Sunday morning hours sermons that he sprinkled with a number of jokes and funny asides, he made a decision to pursue a profession as a specialist comedian, implementing his stage name after an appearance within the older Barry Grey radio display. After finding achievement on the golf club circuit, Mason graduated to some string of tv performances, ignoring suggestions through the William Morris Company to consider elocution lessons to be able to shed his weighty Jewish highlight; he was a specific preferred of Ed Sullivan, and made an appearance on his range display countless instances. In 1962 Mason released his debut LP, I’m the best Comedian on the planet, Only Nobody Understands It However, quickly accompanied by I wish to Keep You with what of an excellent Comedian. Many discovered his broad social examinations questionable, while even additional Jews experienced his self-effacing design bordered on anti-Semitism; coupled with his challenging, raucous off-stage behavior, Mason noticed support for his work dwindle, and spent another 20-unusual years efficiently ostracized, his profession restricted to small clubs and little film shows. Against all chances, in 1987 Mason discovered backing for a well planned one-man display; soon THE ENTIRE WORLD According if you ask me! debuted on Broadway to great acclaim — critics applauded him like a savage satirist, and his efficiency ultimately earned an Tony. His profession resurrected, Mason continued to star within the short-lived sitcom Poultry Soup before time for Broadway in 1991 with COMPLETELY NEW. Subsequent stage displays included Politically Wrong, Like Thy Neighbor, Very much Ado About Everything, and Prune Danish.

1 |
A schmuck like Bernie Sanders pops out who doesn't even know what's going on and doesn't care. Because to him Israel getting wiped out is no problem. Climate change is the only problem. To him, the most important thing in the world is climate change. If Israel gave up their country but they fought for climate change, he would love Israel. In ten minutes, they would be his favorite country. |

Predictions are preposterous. |

I've been watching politics for 35 or 40 years and you just never know. You can have one person win the Iowa caucus and then the whole picture changes ten minutes later. The same thing can happen again after New Hampshire. I have no idea what's going to happen with our country in the future. |
4 |
I can't pretend that I'm a great student of the art of comedy because anybody that becomes philosophical about humor doesn't know what he's talking about. |
5 |
It is more profitable for your congressman to support the tobacco industry than your life. |
6 |
My material is as new as anything on the dinner table. What difference does it make if I'm 70 or if I'm 20? The audience knows they aren't getting any old stories from me. |
7 |
I can't predict the future and I don't have respect for people who try to. |
8 |
I have nothing but love in my heart and everything I say is just an instrument for laughs. |
9 |
My comedy doesn't come from any calculations and studies. |

Eighty percent of married men cheat in America. The rest cheat in Europe. |

Did you ever hear of a kid playing accountant - even if they wanted to be one? |

I don't believe that anybody has come to a conclusion on why something is funny. It's funny because it's ridiculous and it's ridiculous for different reasons at different times. |

If an Englishman gets run down by a truck he apologizes to the truck. |

It's no longer a question of staying healthy. It's a question of finding a sickness you like. |

I have enough money to last me the rest of my life unless I buy something. |
