Jackie Martling

Biography

A longtime fixture of radio’s Howard Stern Present, comedian Jackie “The Joke Guy” Martling was created and raised on Long Isle, NY, earning a qualification in mechanical anatomist from Michigan Condition College or university in 1971. He primarily pursued a profession in rock and roll & roll along with his university music group the Pillowcayse, and after relocating to Denver, CO, in 1973, he shaped a fresh group, the Off-Hours Rockers; nevertheless, Martling often harbored a like for humor, and was famous among his close friends for a apparently inexhaustible way to obtain jokes. Following the music group dissolved in 1978, he started working comic parts into his single musical act, ultimately checking out his stand-up regular on open-mike evening at NY City’s Capture a Rising Superstar. He continuing polishing his build in small night clubs, and in 1979 released his debut LP, What Do YOU ANTICIPATE? Martling released two even more albums, 1980’s Goin’ Ape! and 1981’s Regular FOLKS ARE People YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT Well, sending most three information to then-unknown NY radio character Howard Stern. By 1986, he was a full-time person in Stern’s show, afterwards getting the program’s mind article writer. Despite call-in listeners’ regular admonition “Eff Jackie!,” Martling liked sufficient reputation to issue some new comedy information, included in this Sgt. Pecker, Scorching Canines & Donuts, Snart, and THE MOST EFFECTIVE of Jackie Martling’s Speaking Joke Reserve Cassettes, Vol. 1, and taken care of a steady plan of live schedules as well.
