Biography

A talented jazz vocalist located in the Chicago area, Jackie Allen was raised in Milwaukee and Madison. Section of an extremely musical family members, she performed French horn in early stages furthermore to showing skill as a vocalist. She went to the College or university of Wisconsin, where she discovered a good deal about jazz; among her instructors was bassist Richard Davis. By 1987, she got moved back again to Milwaukee, where for 3 years she sang frequently on the Wyndham Resort while became a member of by organist Melvin Rhyne. In 1990, Allen shifted to Chicago, where she’s performed frequently as a vocalist who falls between jazz and cabaret. In the first ’90s, Jackie Allen documented Never I WANT TO Move, her debut record for the Lake Shoreline Jazz label; an extended hiatus preceded the discharge which six years afterwards.
