An acting professional and singer having a clean tenor tone of voice, Smith experienced a big break in 1933 when he became a member of the Three Ambassadors vocal group with Gus Arnheim’s Music group, which was citizen in the Coconut Grove, within the Ambassador Resort, Los Angeles. Previously, the Rhythm Kids, offering Bing Crosby, experienced sung using the music group there. When Phil Harris changed Arnheim along with his personal extremely entertaining music group, the Ambassadors remained on, and later on toured with him.
