Jack Owens

Biography

Like Skip Wayne, Owens comes from Bentonia, MS. Owens is a lot less popular than Wayne, but he’s frequently compared to Miss because of his high, wealthy vocals and complex guitar designs, which discovers him using many tunings and periodic minor secrets. His materials, it should be noted, isn’t nearly as solid or tightly built as Wayne’, though it pulls from a number of the same resources. Noted folklorist and blues scholar David Evans produced many recordings with Owens in the past due ’60s and early ’70s.
