Jawonn Smith, referred to as J-Wonn (and alternately as Jwonn), is a modern southern R&B musician using a youthful tone of voice. Raised within a single-parent home, the Jackson, Mississippi indigenous was raised in the cathedral and sang in choirs. As he got just a little old, he was attracted to R&B and rap, but he hardly ever severed his link with gospel or the traditional southern spirit and blues that influenced him. “I ACQUIRED This Record,” an individual released in 2013, became something of the regional hit, aided by tireless touring.
