Biography

Prolific SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA punk-pop trio J Church was shaped in 1991 by singer/guitarist Lance Hahn and bassist Gardner Fusuhara, longtime friends who previously teamed in Cringer. Called honoring an area bus path, the group experienced some drummers before and following the 1993 discharge of the full-length debut, Quetzalcoatl; the record was quickly accompanied by Camels, Spilled Corona as well as the Audio of Mariachi Rings, a assortment of early singles. Upon completing 1994’s Prophylaxis, J Cathedral added drummer Reed Burgoyne, who produced his documented debut for the one “Ivy League University”; the continuing flurry of 7″s, divide singles, and compilation performances soon yielded another compilation, Nostalgic for Nothing at all. After issuing 1995’s Arbor Vitae on Hahn’s very own Honey Keep label, J Cathedral caused very much consternation among enthusiasts by putting your signature on to Honest Don’s Barely Utilized Recordings label for 1996’s The Crisis of Alienation; Burgoyne still left the lineup a season afterwards and was changed by A Small Forest drummer Andee Connors. Just one more singles collection, 1998’s Altamont 99, preceded the exits of Fusuhara and Connors, with bassist Jeff Bursley and ex-Jawbreaker drummer Adam Pfahler signing up for Hahn for 2000’s One Mississippi. The round-up compilation Meaty, Beaty, Shitty Sounding made an appearance in 2001 and collected together a couple of the band’s 7″ singles dating back again to 1993; Palestine premiered a year afterwards. A divide with Surprise the Tower implemented in nov 2003 before J Cathedral officially debuted on Gainesville’s No Idea Information with Society Is really a Carnivorous Bloom in August 2004. By that time, Hahn was rocking out alongside guitarist David DiDonato, bassist Ben White colored, and drummer Chris Pfeffer. Horror of Existence appeared within the springtime of 2007 minus DiDonato.
