Ivy Queen

Biography

Ivy Queen, the undisputed “Queen of Reggaeton,” was created Martha Ivelisse Pesante on March 4, 1972, in Afiasco, Puerto Rico. She relocated with her parents to NY as a kid, but the family members relocated back again to Afiasco while Martha was an adolescent, and she completed her general public education in Puerto Rico, becoming a lot more fascinated and associated with the energetic underground globe of Latin hip-hop. She relocated to San Juan at age 18, where she fulfilled rapper and maker DJ Negro, who helped her make performing spots in the Noise, a golf club catering towards the growing reggaeton picture. DJ Negro started producing a group of CDs focused around The Sound, and Martha — as Ivy Queen — produced her 1st appearance within the 5th installment from the Compact disc series having a monitor known as “Somos Raperos Pero No Delincuentes.” Ivy was developing increasingly sick and tired of the violent and explicit intimate lyrics rampant within the picture, and went on her personal in 1996, liberating a debut record, En Mi Imperio, that was quickly found by Sony for distribution in 1997. Another record from Sony, THE INITIAL Rude Girl, made an appearance a year afterwards in 1998, accompanied by the very much anticipated Diva, that was released in 2003 on True Music. True appeared per year later on General Latino, accompanied by Flashback on Univision in 2005. Her 2007 record, Sentimiento, reached number 4 on Billboard’s Best Latin Albums graph. It was implemented three years afterwards by Play Queen, an record that added even more R&B in to the combine. Her 2012 work, Musa, was across the same lines and highlighted the singles “Peligro de Extinción” and “Cupido.” 2 yrs afterwards the Vendetta: Initial Round EP arrived, while 2015 noticed the discharge of four Vendetta EPs, all from the different genre. The Hip-Hop, Bachata, Urban, and Salsa EPs had been all put together that same calendar year over the Vendetta: The Task.
