Biography

The Chicago-based jazz-funk fusion ensemble Isotope 217 featured guitarist Jeff Parker alongside percussionists John Herndon and Dan Bitney, all three better known for his or her work in Tortoise; the roster around the group’s 1997 Thrill Jockey label debut The Unstable Molecule also contains trumpeter Rob Mazurek, bassist Matt Lux, and trombonist Sara P. Smith. Utonian Auto adopted in 1999, plus a break up cooperation with Commander Mindfuck and Developer. A year later on, Who Stole the I Walkman premiered.
