b. Isabella Margaret Dice, 2 Might 1952, Grangemouth, Stirling, Scotland. While still just 10 years previous, St. Clair had been a favoured vocalist on the Aberdeen Folk Membership. She acquired her radio and tv debut at age 12, soon getting popular on programs such as Tales Are For Performing, and My SORT OF Folk. She acquired always been known as Isla, but followed the original edition of her mom’s maiden name Sinclair, when her mom re-married. Her mom, Zetta, already a proper respected vocalist and writer within the folk fraternity, was a big impact. Meeting such set up traditional performers as Jeannie Robertson, helped additional still to gasoline the fireplace of passion. After leaving senior high school aged 17, St. Clair became a specialist folk vocalist.
