One among the few bands named honoring an associate whose duties included bit more than dancing, singing occasional backup vocals and making sound files, Isaac Green as well as the Skalars were one of the leaders from the St. Louis ska-revival picture from the 1990s. Founded circa 1992 by Green, guitarist Ethan D’Ercole and bassist Will Horton, following a group of roster adjustments the group later on grew to likewise incorporate vocalist/saxophonist Jessica Butler, trombonist Evan Shaw, Farfisa participant Jason Brody and drummer Dave Sharma. After debuting in 1995 having a seven-inch entitled “Junbok Paranoia,” in 1996 they released their debut LP, Skoolin’ using the Skalars.
