Irving Fine

Aaron Copland described his friend and colleague Irving Good as owned by what he called the American “Stravinsky college,” and even a lot of Fine’s early function shows the impact of Stravinsky aswell as Hindemith. A tonal vocabulary that is essentially dissonant characterizes these early functions.
