Ironing Board Sam

b. Sammie Moore, 1939, Rockfield, SC, USA. Sam discovered to try out the body organ as a young child, focusing on boogie-woogie and gospel music before embracing blues while playing in Miami, Florida. He produced his first music group in 1959 and obtained his stage name while located in Memphis, when he installed his keyboard with an ironing plank. Originally he loathed the name but transformed it to his benefit by giving apart ironing planks at his displays! His music provides appeared on many labels including Vacation Inn, Atlantic, Styletone and Plank, and his live pieces feature a mixture of extreme blues and jazz. His onstage antics consist of playing within a container of water! He’s now located in New Orleans.
