Iron Monkey formed in Nottingham, Britain, in 1994, intending “to irritate as many folks as you possibly can,” based on bass participant Doug Dalziel. That could have worked for some time, but ultimately the band experienced to cope with the actual fact that a number of people actually loved what these were performing. After liberating a self-titled six-song mini-album in 1996, the music group gained a good amount of gratitude within the underground. Gossips abounded that Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo was hearing the self-titled launch when he overdosed on heroin in 1996. Due to the hype and infamy round the recording, concert events, and associated gossips, Iron Monkey was found by the metallic large Earache in 1997 and released the epic and troubling Our Issue in 1998. The best label exposure changed Iron Monkey from an area force into 1 of 2 powerhouse sludge rings in the past due ’90s, another becoming New Orleans’ Eyehategod. After documenting Our Issue, Iron Monkey continued to be fiercely independent, documenting the last work from the group, the 10″ record and Compact disc divided with Japan’s Chapel of Misery, We’ve Discovered Nothing at all, for Melvins cover designer and stoner rock and roll label owner Frank Kozik’s Man’s Wreck records.
