Iqua Colson

b. Kristine Browne, 12 July 1953, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Colson analyzed at Kenwood SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL before getting into Northwestern University College of Music and Chicago Musical University at Roosevelt University or college. Subsequently, she joined up with The Table of Directors from the Jazz Institute of Chicago and was also associated with the suppliers of Chicago’s Underground Fest as well as the Blacklight Film Event. At age 19, an African friend remarked, ‘You are Iqua’, the name directed at female performers in his town and from after that onwards she utilized this as her stage name, steadily adopting it for all those reasons. In 1975, she wedded pianist Steve Colson and in 1982 the few moved to NJ. On occasion, she’s led rings at ladies’s jazz celebrations and in addition has made an appearance at many locations all over the world in cooperation with her hubby. As a vocalist, she’s been called a Vocal Talent Deserving Wider Identification by DownBeat and acknowledged by Billboard for recognized achievement being a lyricist. Deeply mixed up in innovative arts and in education in Chicago and NEW YORK, as well as much places in the brand new Jersey region, Colson provides helped develop and start many projects, specifically those getting music education of an extremely high regular to institutions in NJ. Among the lyrics she writes are those established to the music of her hubby.
