A Prince protege, Chavez produced information when she claimed she’d written, but received no credit for, Madonna’s “Justify My Like” (Chavez was proved in the proper). Her design is unusual, comprising breathy spoken passages over much dance defeat. Her self-titled debut recording may lead to greater things.
