Produced by students on the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo in 2003, the experimental piano trio In the united states perform a exclusive mixture of jazz, classical, and rock and roll. Showcasing the abilities of pianist Morten Qvenild, bassist Roger Arntzen, and drummer Pål Hausken, the trio released its debut record, THIS IS the Speed of My Heartbeat, on Rune Grammofon in 2005. A calendar year afterwards, the group released its sophomore work, Losing Rocks, Collecting Bones, this time around offering Swedish vocalist Stefan Sundström and guitarist Marc Ribot.
