Pursuing in the sophisticated footsteps of Carla Bruni as opposed to the ill-advised music forays of Naomi Campbell, Imany is among the few supermodels to help make the transition through the catwalk towards the documenting studio show up effortless. Delivered Nadia Mladjao in 1979 in the Comoros Islands, from the southeast coastline of Africa, she was raised in France, where she primarily began as an effective high jumper before getting signed with the Ford Versions Europe Company. After many years of journeying all over the world, including a six-year stint in the U.S., she came back to France to pursue her lifelong ambition to become a singer. Motivated by famous brands Billie Vacation, Nina Simone, and Tracy Chapman, she started performing a mixture of acoustic folk and soulful blues beneath the guise of Imany (Swahili for “wish”) in a variety of Parisian nightclubs and jazz pubs, before launching her debut EP, Acoustic Periods. After helping Ben l’Oncle Spirit and Angie Rock on their Western european tours, she caused manufacturer Malick N’Diaye (Ayo) on her behalf first album, THE FORM of the Broken Heart, that was released to important acclaim in 2011.
