Ilse Maria Koppel played harpsichord within the 1st 3 Savage Rose albums, The Savage Rose, In the Simple, and Travelin’. At that time she was wedded to one from the group’s two primary keyboardist/composers, Thomas Koppel. Students of piano in the Royal Danish Academy of Music, she wedded Thomas in 1966, before Savage Rose was founded. Although Ilse Maria Koppel’s harpsichord isn’t one of the most prominent top features of the 1st few Savage Rose albums, coupled with Thomas Koppel’s piano and Anders Koppel’s body organ, it offered the music group an unusually completely textured, multiple-keyboard audio. Ilse Maria Koppel divorced Thomas Koppel after departing the music group, and Thomas Koppel consequently wedded Savage Rose’s business lead singer, Annisette.
