Biography

Sick Al Skratch had some short-lived mainstream success within the middle-’90s with Creep Wit’ Me personally, the duo’s 1994 debut recording. Two singles from Creep Wit’ Me — “Where My Homiez?” and “I’ll Consider Her” — produced some ground around the R&B graphs, the latter becoming the bigger strike because of Brian McKnight’s vocal efforts. Regrettably, while “I’ll Consider Her” became a considerable hit, it had been even more representative of McKnight’s design of music than Sick Al Skratch’s design of East Coastline party rap. Therefore, listeners were baffled, so when the Brooklyn duo came back in 1997 using its follow-up record, few observed. The record fell from the graphs quickly and shortly Sick and Al Skratch had been has-beens. As the Brooklyn duo’s name helps it be seem as though Sick Al Skratch is certainly one person instead of two, that’s not the situation: There’s Sick (acronym for I Lyrical Lord), who’s the MC, and there’s Al Skratch, who’s the DJ. Both debuted using the “Where My Homiez?” 12″ released by Mercury and made by LG, better referred to as Easy Mo Bee’s sibling. The tune peaked at amount 34 on Billboard’s R&B graphs and came near breaking the very best 100 pop singles in summertime 1994. Next emerged “I’ll Take Her,” which highlighted McKnight. The tune crossed over well, achieving amount 62 pop and amount 16 R&B in past due 1994. Once the two came back in 1997 with Maintain It Movin’, which didn’t perform nearly in addition to Creep Wit’ Me, it brought the duo’s profession to an instant halt.
