Biography

Most widely known for his use Dizzy Gillespie, Afro-Cuban and jazz drummer Ignacio Berroa was created in Havana, Cuba, in 1953. Though he originally analyzed traditional violin, after he noticed Nat Ruler Cole and Glenn Miller he understood that he wished to have a different path. He started drum lessons at 11, and by 1970 was carrying out expertly in Cuba. In 1980 Berroa relocated to NY. By another yr, Dizzy Gillespie experienced invited him to become listed on his quartet, and he spent another a decade playing within the trumpeter’s various organizations. Similarly adept in jazz and Latin percussion, Berroa documented and performed with performers like Tito Puente, Charlie Haden, Chico Buarque, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Chick Corea, and João Bosco, and released his initial solo album, Rules, in 2006.
