Biography
Composed of Dave Freeman (drums), Steve Robinson (guitar, vocals), Allan Holdsworth (b. 6 August 1946, Bradford, Western Using of Yorkshire, Britain; acoustic guitar/vocals) and Mick Skelly (bass), Igginbottom was shaped in the past due 60s so that they can fuse rock and roll and jazz customs. Certainly there is nothing wrong using the musicianship on screen on the music group’s debut, 1969’s Igginbottom’s Wrench, but some endless (apparently improvised) solos uncovered an lack of path and forethought. Nevertheless, the record, released on Deram Information, is significant for offering the documented debut of Holdsworth, who continued to try out with Jon Hiseman’s Tempest, Soft Machine and afterwards Level 42. Igginbottom hardly ever documented a follow-up record and their exclusive album is currently a cherished obscurity among enthusiasts.
