If they formed Idle Warship in 2008, Philadelphia vocalist and songwriter Res (Shareese Ballard) and MC Talib Kweli had many years of collaborative function behind them. Both went dating back to 2000, when Res — twelve months away from launching her significantly undervalued debut for MCA, How I REALLY DO — contributed to teach of Idea, Kweli’s first recording with Hi-Tek as Representation Eternal. In ’09 2009, Idle Warship performed in the SXSW Music event in Austin, Tx, and toured European countries; that Oct, they released a free of charge DJ Mick Boogie-hosted mixtape entitled Party Automatic robot, which presented support from vocalist/songwriter Graph Book.
