Ian Shaw

Launching his job playing trumpet and flugelhorn, Ian Shaw has already established his greatest success since moving his concentrate to his baritone/tenor vocals. THE BRAND NEW York Instances praised him for his “full psychological control of the traditional jazz-idiom specifications,” while Cadence journal cited his “buttery sound and genuine jazz singer’s capability to improvise along instrumental lines.” A indigenous of the tiny Welsh town of St. Asaph, Shaw comes from a musical family members: his grandfather, Chick Smith, performed trumpet in dance rings; his father performed cornet in brass rings; a cousin, Jimmie Deucher, performed using the Clarke/Boland Big Band. His first launch in THE UNITED STATES, In a fresh York Minute, released in 1999, was distributed to important jazz pianist Cedar Walton. His second single album, Soho Tales, was released the next year.
