The I-Threes were probably the most influential female singing group in the annals of Jamaican music. A trio offering Marcia Griffiths, Rita Marley, and Judy Mowatt, the I-Threes offered the wealthy harmonies for Bob Marley’s shows and recordings from 1974 until his loss of life ten years later on. Marcia Griffith had been a star once the I-Threes arrived collectively. Her duet recordings with Bob Andy, including “Youthful, Gifted and Dark,” experienced brought her worldwide interest. When she asked Mowatt, who experienced previously sung using the Gaylettes, and Marley to harmonize with her on the documenting with Andy, she arranged the stage for the trio’s development. The recording program proved so uplifting that she asked the two ladies to become guests on the track that she and Andy had been scheduled to execute that night at the home of Chen in New Kingston. Soon after the departure of Peter Tosh and Bunny Livingston from your Wailers, Bob Marley asked the three ladies to sing on his documenting, Jah Live. They continuing to interact for another a decade. In early 1975, the I-Threes became a member of Marley for any tour as starting take action for the Jackson Five. Although they continuing to perform collectively following Marley’s loss of life, the three ladies quickly elected to go after solo careers.
