I Heart Lung

Shaped in 2004, We Heart Lung are an exploratory free-form jazz duo made up of guitarist Chris Schlarb (Generate [!], Xn) and drummer Tom Steck. As I Center Lung toured the Claims with Castanets and Wooden Wand & the Vanishing Tone of voice, their debut recording — the seriously improvised Bloodstream & Light — was documented in mere three hours on the whim after among their shows was canceled. They toured to get a year before liberating their follow-up, I Center Xmas, a five-song EP of free-form improvisations centered loosely on Xmas carols — also documented quickly in a single program. In 2007, Schlarb and Steck added Create (!) saxophonist Peter Chan for his or her live shows, that have been documented and released as Between Them a Forest Grew, Trackless and Calm. That yr, Schlarb released his 1st solo recording using his real name, Twilight & Ghost Tales, a sprawling disk that included over 50 collaborating music artists. In 2008, after putting your signature on to Asthmatic Kitty Information, I Center Lung released Interoceans, that was accompanied by a remix recording entitled Interoceans Remixed.
