The performers out of this category of singers originated from the eleven sons and two daughters of Jesse Hutchinson. They modeled themselves following the Rainer Category of Tyrol who toured america in 1839. The Hutchinson’s started their personal tour as the “Tribe of Jesse,” later on as the “Aeolian Vocalists” finaly buying their own family members name in the 1840’s. The group put into two when Abby, among the daughters, was wedded and remaining the group. Both separate groups had been referred to as the “Tribe of John,” as well as the “Tribe of Asa.” They performed before 1880s. Their status grew at anti-slavery rallies aswell as temperance and women’s suffrage conferences.
