Talented Latin percussionist from Uruguay Hugo Machado, also called Foca, started his instrumentalist career by the finish from the 1960s, joining an organization known as Kanela y su Baracutanga in 1975 and operating along with composer Eduardo Da Luz. In 1988, the musician performed along with vocalist/songwriter Yábor at Colquin’s Folk Event, a significant traditional music event in SOUTH USA. He quickly performed at Buenos Aires’ Obras Sanitarias inside a display called Un Candombazo, playing Afro-Uruguayan drums. When Hugo Machado became a member of Raíces, the designer had the chance to participate on the album Empalme.
