This folk-based group from Lancashire, England was formed in 1975 by Tony Berry (b. Anthony Berry, 15 January 1950, Bolton, Lancashire, Britain; vocals), Norman Prince (b. Norman Anthony Prince, 26 Apr 1946, Eccles, Manchester, Britain; vocals, acoustic guitar), David Littler (b. David George Littler, 13 March 1949, Westhoughton, Lancashire, Britain; vocals, banjo, acoustic guitar, ukulele), and John Oliver (b. Appley Bridge, Wigan, Lancashire, Britain; vocals). These were the citizen group at several locations in the north western world of Britain, but within a year, Oliver still left the group. He was changed by Denis Littler (b. Westhoughton, Lancashire, Britain; bass, vocals), who himself still left in Feb 1984. Jeff Hill (b. Jeffrey Martin Hill, 14 Sept 1958 Warrington, Lancashire, Britain; vocals, bass, electric guitar) joined up with the group the same month.
