Hot Lava’s eclectic indie pop music — peppered with techno-geek jargon, slicked with gritty seaside rock electric guitar stylings, and laced with spooky reverb results — nodded to fun-loving acts just like the Bicycles as well as the Blow. Founded by several art school learners in Richmond, VA, in 2006, Sizzling hot Lava underwent many lineup changes within their formative years; by enough time the music group went in to the studio room in 2008 to record its debut record, the lineup contains lead vocalist Allison Apperson, drummer Jared Sosa, bassist Andrew Mowe, and keyboardist Matt Deans. Their initial release, Lavalogy, premiered on Club/None in ’09 2009.
