Hortense Ellis

b. 18 Apr 1941, Kingston, Jamaica, Western world Indies, d. 19 Oct 2000, Kingston, Jamaica, Western world Indies. Ellis started her career executing on Vere Johns’ Chance Hour, where she made an appearance in six semi-finals and four finals demonstrating her vocal abilities. Unfortunately, her afterwards career was frequently overshadowed by her sibling Alton Ellis, the person regularly known as the godfather of reggae.
