Horrorcomic

Plowing an identical furrow to the first Misfits, albeit at the same time when the American group continued to be unknown in the U.K., Roger Rep (vocals), ex-Sweet guitarist Frank Torpey (aka Frankie Dean), Ray Boghart (bass), and Wally Bantam (drums) shaped Horrorcomic in early 1977. Component novelty act, component solid fun, Horrorcomic agreed upon using the Lightning label and debuted using the pun-heavy “All Hung Through to Pierrpoint” one — misspelling notwithstanding, the titular Pierrepoint was England’s last open public hangman. Two additional 45s — “I Don’t Brain” and “Jesus Christ” — implemented over another 2 yrs, both lower in an identical vein and similarly pleasurable, before Horrorcomic vanished from watch.
