Horizon 222 are Ben and Andy, who have hold their surnames a closely guarded key. From Whitley Bay in Tyneside, Britain, they work their own Appeal Records label, acquiring their neo-ambient music on the highway with a camper-van: ‘Under no circumstances mind all of this stuff about ambient music getting made to send you to rest. So far as we’re worried, it ought to be a wake-up contact.’ The music employed on the 1994 debut record included samples which echo their fascination with public justice and politics: Oliver North admitting he lied to Congress, and samples extracted from information coverage from the release from the Guildford Four.
