Hopeton Lindo

Lindo continues to be employed in the Jamaican music sector in the mid-70s. In 1978, he documented the traditional ‘Black Background’, with DJ and manufacturer Mikey Dread. Pursuing his initial strike Lindo began executing over the Blackstar International AUDIO SYSTEM. He performed alongside DJs, Brigadier Jerry and Tiger in addition to performers Pad Anthony and Tonto Irie. In 1980, Lindo documented ‘Sidewalk Traveller’ with Gussie Clarke in the makers’ Music Functions studio, which resulted in an extended and fruitful collaboration. His association using the Music Functions posse also resulted in a songwriting collaboration with House T who co-wrote the quintessential ‘Phone Like’, a monitor that revived the profession of J.C. Lodge, and ‘Champ Enthusiast’ performed by Deborahe Glasgow. ‘Phone Love’ resulted in a slew of strikes on a single tempo including ‘Nuff Respect’ (Woman G), ‘Weighty Fill’ (Mighty Gemstones), ‘Choice’ (Ken Boothe) and Lindo’s personal efficiency of ‘Unhappy Night time’. While ‘Phone Like’ was deemed a Jamaican traditional, ‘Champion Enthusiast’ gets the differentiation of spawning a global strike for Shabba Rates once the DJ re-recorded the melody with Chevelle Franklin. Lindo’s songwriting pedigree led to him dealing with performers that included Dennis Dark brown, Aswad and Gregory Isaacs. In the first 90s he became associated with the Two Close friends Staff alongside Chevelle Franklin, Brian And Tony Silver, Peter Mann and Patrick Lindsay.
