Veterans from the isle music picture, Hawaii’s Ho’okena formed in 1986. Featuring people Manu Boyd, Horace K. Dudoit III, Chris Kamaka, and Glen H.K. Smith, the group has its record label, Ho‘omau Inc., and it has won many Nā Hōkū Hanohano honours through the Hawai‘we Academy of Documenting Arts (HARA). This year’s 2009 work Nani Mau Loa: Everlasting Beauty gained the group its second Grammy nomination for Greatest Hawaiian Album.
