Honey & the Bees

A but talented Philadelphia feminine spirit quartet, Honey & the Bees produced some relatively little-known information for the Arctic and Josie brands in the past due ’60s and early ’70s using music artists that played in common 1970s Gamble-Huff productions. These included Leon Huff himself on piano, and Ron Baker, Earl Youthful, Bobby Eli, and Norman Harris within the tempo section; Harris and Thom Bell had been among those that added to the songwriting. Honey & the Bees spent years over the membership circuit, starting for bigger spirit serves in Philadelphia and through the entire East Coastline before disbanding in 1973. Group member Gwen Oliver wedded Fred Wesley from the JB’s, whom she fulfilled when Honey & the Bees opened up for James Dark brown in 1971.
