Homespun

This project was inaugurated in 2002 when David Rotheray (b. 9 Feb 1963, Hull, East Traveling of Yorkshire, Britain) discovered himself with some down-time throughout a lull in Beautiful South actions. He recorded some demos with musical close friends at his house studio room and, after realising which the project demanded much more serious factor, known as on vocalist Sam Dark brown (b. Samantha Dark brown, 7 Oct 1964, Stratford, London, Britain) to greatly help him re-record the materials. The self-titled debut record by the recently minted Homespun was among 2003’s most captivating releases, sketching on pop, nation and folk with Dark brown’s outstanding vocals offering the icing over the wedding cake. The equally completed Effortless Cool implemented in 2005. Another Homespun record was completed following disbanding of the stunning South, with Rotheray, Dark brown and company joined up with by visitor vocalists Mary Coughlan and Eleanor McEvoy.
