Lo-fi pop outfit House shaped in Tampa, Florida in the first ’90s throughout the core of guitarist/vocalist Andrew Deutsch, keyboardist/vocalist Eric Morrison, and bassist/vocalist Brad Truax. After attaining a local pursuing, the group started self-recording some eight cassettes — entitled I through VIII — obtainable only at a small number of Tampa-area shops and released on Home’s very own Screw Music Forever label. The tapes ultimately received the group a contract using the indie label Relativity, which issued IX in 1995; following album’s release, nevertheless, Relativity switched forms from rock and roll to urban, enabling Home to discover a brand-new label. Rather, they discovered two — while Plane Set expressed a pastime in their even more pop-oriented materials, Emperor Jones latched onto the band’s even more experimental function.
