Holly Bowling

California-based pianist Holly Bowling is becoming known on her behalf meticulously transcribed instrumental renditions of well-known jam band functions. A lifelong Phish and Pleased Dead enthusiast, the classically educated musician was transferred to adjust Phish’s “Tweezer” for single piano after witnessing the music group play a now-famous 37-minute edition of the melody in Lake Tahoe in 2013. Basing her agreements on currently improvised functions, Bowling furthers the parts with her very own improvisations as noticed on her initial record, 2015’s Distillation of the Wish: Music of Phish Reimagined for Single Piano. The record garnered wide acclaim, specifically in the jam music group community. A calendar year later, she used the same idea towards the music from the Pleased Dead on her behalf second LP, Better Still left Unsung.
