Hit the Switch

Located in Riverside, CA, Strike the Switch shaped in 2001 and released their initial EP that same year. Following album’s release, different member adjustments ensued; the band’s lineup ultimately solidified around vocalist/guitarist Matthew Hawks, bassist Ray Ramirez, drummer Scott Perry, and guitarist Joel Urias. Another EP and a summertime 2005 full-length emerged next prior to the men caught the interest of Nitro Information and inked a cope with the label in early 2006. Highlighting their melodic and intense punk (with sometimes metallic guitars), Strike the Switch’s self-produced Nitro debut, Local Tranquility & Public Justice, was released that summer; to be able to pass on their name in a far more economical method (rather than through a normal retail discharge), the record was offered solely online free of charge download. Different tour dates implemented, though the men were back the studio room by winter to begin with focus on their follow-up.
