Robotic, quirky, and incredibly sweet, the endearing sounds from the Wisconsin-based quartet His & Her Vanities mix the tongue-in-cheek preciseness of vintage Devo using the bouncy naivete of indie rock. Appearing out of Madison, the music group started like a task between Ricky and Terrin Riemer within the cool months lately 1999. Originally intended like a duo, both decided to increase the lineup and early the next springtime they drafted drummer Sara Winkelman in to the fold. Experimenting the region, they traveled right down to Chicago for the very first Ladyfest Midwest before going for a break to re-record many tracks. If they emerged from your studio, that they had finished their eponymous debut and released it in the summertime of 2002. The music group jumped back to the live circuit for another couple of months, adding friend Matt Abplanalp on acoustic guitar and starting the first writing for another record.
