Hijas del Sol

Afro-beat duet Hijas del Sol was shaped by Piruchi Apo Botupá and her niece Paloma Loribó. The duo got their breakthrough while taking part in an African traditional celebration in 1992. After settling in Madrid, Spain, the Equatorial Guinea natives began getting involved with local cultural actions, conference Manu Chao, who became their coach immediately after. In 1996, Hijas del Sol debuted with Sibeba, that was released by indie label Nubenegra.
