Higamos Hogamos

Called after a seemingly non-sensical phrase that philosopher William Adam coined as “this is of life” while tinkering with nitrous oxide, Higamos Hogamos, like Adam, is certainly a stoney and experimental electro duo that mixes contemporary electronic sounds with ’70s glam, psychedelia, and Krautrock — especially Krautrock. Previously paired jointly in Fort Lauderdale, Steve Webster (the Dark Neon) and Toby Jenkins (Zan Skillet, the Squire of Somerton) began a recording task in London over the wintertime vacations of 2006. Seriously influenced with the generating electro-rhythms of Motorik German groupings Neu!, Kraftwerk, and Harmonia, Webster and Jenkins documented a few tracks together just before DC Recordings’ Saul Kane noticed the group’s potential, and agreed upon these to DC, who released their initial record in March of 2009.
