Hero Destroyed

Pittsburgh, PA’s Hero Destroyed made a solid initial impression in 2008 using their independently released, eponymous mini-album, which, in intriguingly contradictory style, siphoned Mastodon’s thinking man’s contemporary metal eyesight through hardcore’s simplifying design template and mathematics metal’s stupefying algorithms. Produced three years previous, the group’s lineup during this first documenting (which, incidentally, was captured by Pro-Pain guitarist Eric Klinger) contains vocalist Pat McNicholas, guitarists Zach Moore and Jeff Turko, bassist Dustin Newman, and drummer A.J. Falcione (afterwards changed by Neal Andrus). Copies from the disk had been distributed at Hero Destroyed’s regional shows, and finally got the music group suggested to Relapse Information, which reissued the EP and implemented it using the band’s full-length debut recording, Throes, this year 2010.
