Herb Hendler

Longtime music industry veteran Supplement Hendler also penned some hits in cooperation with bandleader Ralph Flanagan, especially the oft-covered “Sizzling hot Toddy.” Blessed in Philadelphia on June 17, 1918, Hendler initial emerged on the zenith from the golf swing era being a musician and arranger. By 1946, he was set up being a manufacturer at Rainbow Information, collaborating with Flanagan on the Tribute to Glenn Miller, which highlighted Miller alumni including trumpeters Bobby Hackett and Dale McMickle, saxophonist Al Klink, and bassist Cause Alpert. The task proved successful and Hendler agreed upon on as Flanagan’s supervisor, for a while supervising bandleader Pal Morrow aswell. He also constructed music in colaboration with bandleaders Jerry Grey and Henri René, but liked his greatest industrial achievement with Flanagan. Furthermore to “Popular Toddy,” documented by everyone from Chet Atkins to Julie London, in addition they teamed for “Albuquerque” and “Performing Winds,” amongst others. With Doug Arthur, Hendler also penned the Johnnie Ray strike “Espresso and Smoking.” He afterwards served a protracted stint as mind of A&R at RCA Information, during that period producing a group of periods for crooner Perry Como. In following decades Hendler centered on posting, eventually offering as vice leader at Beechwood Music Corp. He passed away in NEW YORK on Oct 16, 2007 at age 89.
