Henry “Rubberlegs” Williams

A jazz/blues singer and dancer who enjoyed middling achievement within the ’30s, Williams biggest state to posterity had mostly regarding being in the proper place at the proper time: Mls Davis produced his preliminary recordings on the Williams-led program. Davis’s contribution was minimal–saxophonist Herbie Areas was the highlighted instrumentalist and bandleader–but the Apr 24, 1945 periods for Savoy will be the initial known recorded types of his playing, and very important to that cause (if for no various other). For Williams, his profession straddled jazz and vaudeville. He proved helpful the TOBA circuit in his teenagers, and performed in minstrel and vaudeville displays through the ’20s and ’30s.
