Produced in 1966, this Welsh group was fronted by Frank Hennessy (b. 2 Feb 1947, Cardiff, Wales; acoustic guitar, vocals), the additional two members had been Dave Burns up (b. 4 November 1946, Cardiff, Wales; mandolin, acoustic guitar, vocals), and Paul Powell (b. 1946, Cardiff, Wales; banjo, vocals). In the beginning they performed folk night clubs, and used performing regular in 1968. Through the pursuing 12 months, the trio resided and worked well in Eire. On the go back to Wales, the Hennessys started to broadcast with BBC Wales. Their 1st release, LATER ON, within the Cambrian label, made an appearance in 1969. Hanging out researching Welsh traditional materials, they released several singles and EPs including Ar Lan Y Môr (1970), Yr Hennessys (1971), Great Small Trains Of Wales (1971), WHO’LL Cast A Rock (1972), Rhyddid Yn Ein Can (1973), and received a residency on BBC tv’s folk program The Singin Barn. In 1972, creator member Powell remaining the group. Tom Edwards (dual bass) joined up with in 1979, and continuing using the group until 1991, when he previously to retire through sick wellness. The line-up was augmented with the addition of Iolo Jones (b. 12 Feb 1955, Plymouth, Devon, Britain; fiddle). The Hennessys still tour, mainly concerts and promotional function for the Welsh Visitor Board and English Tourist Expert. Dave Burns up also operates Wobbly Information, which released his Last Pit In The Rhondda. The group maintained significant amounts of recognition, despite their fairly sparse result. Edwards retired from carrying out in 1991. Iolo Jones also performs with folk group Ar Log.
