Heldon

Led by guitarist Richard Pinhas, the People from france group Heldon released seven groundbreaking albums, melding electronic and rock and roll forms, from 1974 to 1978. Pinhas also documented six albums under his personal name. Pinhas was seriously affected by Robert Fripp; this displays in his acoustic guitar playing, and in the game titles of many of his compositions. While early LPs occasionally evoked the audio of Fripp and Eno, Heldon progressed in its direction. The discharge of Heldon IV: Agneta Nilsson noticed the group going toward a far more extreme, menacing sound. Heldon V: El Reve Sans Outcome Speciale was the first ever to feature the “traditional” lineup of Pinhas, drummer Francois Auger, and key pad participant Patrick Gauthier. These three will be the essential employees on Heldon’s last four albums. The complete Pinhas/Heldon catalog was reissued on Compact disc by Cuneiform, many featuring reward live tracks.
